Your shelf β carriers
Pick what your client needs β I'll show which of your carriers writes it, with their flagship product.
The guardrails that keep your license safe β especially on IUL.
Verify before you quote
Rates, caps, and underwriting rules change constantly and vary by state. This desk is your fast recall β the carrier's current filed document is always the source of truth. Every carrier card shows a "last verified" date.
IUL is the high-risk zone (AG 49-A)
Illustrated rates and policy-loan leverage are capped under NAIC AG 49-A (with 2026 disclosure enhancements). Avoid restricted language β "investment," "guaranteed," "savings account" β in anything a client could see. Route every IUL illustration claim through you, the licensed agent.
Your scope
Licensed in DC, Maryland & Virginia. Default every quote to those states. RILA products are securities (need Series 6/7 + broker-dealer) β informational only until you're securities-licensed. Corebridge NY (US Life) is a NY-only entity β write DC/MD/VA business on American General Life.
Stay appointed
Keep E&O current and AML training renewed (every 2 yrs). Watch carrier compliance bulletins for advertising, replacement, and suitability rule changes β they carry real penalty exposure.
